Context

Home OS is a product prototype for households that need a better way to manage home upkeep. It brings maintenance, systems, renovation spending, documents, service providers, and equity context into one place.

Problem

Most home records live in memory, texts, receipts, email, and one-off reminders. Owners lose track of what is due, what was fixed, who did the work, and what the home needs next.

Your Role

  • Led product strategy and feature architecture
  • Designed the overview, maintenance, improvements, ledger, services, systems, documents, and equity sections
  • Built patterns for recurring tasks, provider records, renovation costs, and household planning
  • Framed the product story for a homeowner-facing launch

Approach

I separated stable records from recurring actions. Systems, documents, providers, and project history stay easy to find. Maintenance and seasonal tasks surface when attention is needed.

The interface stays quiet on purpose. It gives the homeowner a quick read on what is due, what is aging, what has been spent, and what should be planned next.

Outcome

Home OS now has a working product model and prototype surface. It shows how a complex household can become easier to manage through clear records, useful reminders, and one reliable dashboard.
